Abu Dhabi has launched a “Thrive in Abu Dhabi” campaign attracting talented individuals, students and investors for a long-term stay with their families in the capital of the UAE. This promising initiative developed by Abu Dhabi also seeks to make key sectors like healthcare, research and development, arts and culture and real estate more advanced than before.
The campaign is in line with the UAE’s Golden Visas and eventually leads to obtaining citizenship mainly for expatriates involved within the capital. Last month, the government of UAE announced that it would grant foreigners and non-Emiratis citizenship for the first time in their history. This meant that they were allowed to maintain dual citizenship, retaining their original nationality.
The campaign also focuses on talented, creative and sporting individuals in the Emirates. “Creative talent are encouraged to be part of a global arts and culture hub, join the emirate’s dynamic media and the entertainment industry, or support the development of our understanding of the past among fellow academics, conservators and archaeologists,” an official release stated. The campaign will help creative individuals to be the best in their field while creating a home in Abu Dhabi.
Being the capital of the UAE, Abu Dhabi thrives in the cultural and creative sector and hosts a vibrant arts scene with some finest art centres, museums, art fairs and also a grassroots artistic community. It is an ideal place for individuals with special artistic skills to flourish their career and the “Thrive in Abu Dhabi” campaign merely facilitates the process. Some of the major artistic attractions in the capital include the Louvre Abu Dhabi, Miraj Islamic Art Centre, The Art Gallery at NYU Abu Dhabi and the forthcoming Guggenheim Abu Dhabi. Also, there are several international educational institutions including Berkeley College, CNN Academy and NYU Abu Dhabi helping students to excel in their artistic careers.
Apart from the creative sector, students with promising abilities or with a Ph.D. degree can broaden their horizons and choose exciting career paths with the help of the newly launched campaign. With some of the world-class academic institutions in Abu Dhabi, students can have a unique and diverse learning experience. The “Thrive in Abu Dhabi” program also gives access to funding and incentives so that innovators can turn their ideas into reality. The program aspires to generate a thriving R&D sector in the Emirates and hopefully develop groundbreaking technologies to overcome the challenges faced by our planet. Competitive research funding is also available as a part of Abu Dhabi’s accelerator program, Ghadan 21, which can be an integral part to support R&D.
Investment opportunities within Abu Dhabi are in abundance. So, the new campaign also focuses on encouraging investors and entrepreneurs to grow and improve in sectors like financial services, health services and biopharma, agriculture technologies, ICT and tourism. The startups and SMEs in Abu Dhabi also have been receiving significant support from various financing initiatives like Hub71, a global start-up ecosystem that is now home to more than 100 start-ups, SME Credit Guarantee and Ghadan 21.
With a number of successful sectors that are creating opportunities for talented individuals to achieve and succeed, Abu Dhabi is starting a thriving ecosystem with its new campaign. Accompanied by rich culture and arts, world-class universities, supreme lifestyle and a diverse population, Abu Dhabi ensures a welcoming, safe and supportive environment where everyone can thrive.
