Poco Recently Announced Poco F3 And Poco X3 Pro, Phones Under $300

When it comes to delivering a high-end device that suits a user’s budget, POCO has been a name to note. POCO was formerly a Xiaomi sub-brand, but it was announced as an independent brand in November of 2020. But, the process of rebranding Redmi series devices is still in action.

In 2018, the POCO’s first-ever product was unveiled, the POCO F1, which soon led to technology fans and media popularization of the brand. POCO unveiled not one, but two devices today at the virtual event: the POCO X3 Pro and POCO F3.

Alongside POCO X3 Pro, there has been a global debut of Qualcomm’s latest offering Snapdragon 860 Soc – the third 800 series processor for 2021. Let us clear you that, with POCO X3 Pro you’re not purchasing a 5G supported device, Snapdragon 860 is only 4G capable which is a bit of a downside for a 2021 device.

Snapdragon 860 is a Kyro 485 octa-core CPU with its peak performance of 2.96 GHz and Adreno 640 GPU. It’s a lot similar to last year’s flagship Snapdragon 865 processor. As mentioned in the event, Snapdragon 860 has 7.6 Trillion Operations Per Second (TOPS).

The latest POCO X3 Pro offers top-notch specifications that everyone would love to hold. It majorly follows its predecessor i.e. POCO X3 launched last year. It boasted its screen to 120 Hz IPS LCD panel with an added touch sampling rate of 240 Hz.  The device has corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection for the screen and has 450 nits brightness.

The POCO X3 Pro has UFS 3.1 storage, which is an industry standard for high-end smartphones. It comes with 256 GB of storage and LPDDR4X 8 GB of RAM, which is a significant upgrade from the X3. It has the same 5160 mAh battery as the POCO X3 and supports 33W fast charging, which allows POCO X3 Pro to charge in just 59 minutes. It’s also equipped with LiquidCool Technology 1.0 Plus for improved gaming performance.

On camera unit, POCO X3 Pro includes a 48 MP main sensor with f/1.79 aperture (downgrade from the POCO X3’s 64 MP), an 8MP ultra-wide lens with 119 degrees Field Of View (FOV), and a 2 MP, 2 MP Depth and Macro Lens. It has some interesting video features, such as a screen clone and dual video. Dual video records the target from both the rear and front cameras, while video cloning helps you to clone multiple objects within one video. It has a 20 MP lens on the front within a centered punch hole.

The design has also been improved. On the rear, it has a dual-textured body. It has an anti-fingerprint body on the sides and a large POCO marking in the center, which POCO refers to as a “Finish Line” style.

Furthermore, the X3 Pro has a dynamic switch option that allows users to choose a refresh rate depending on their preferences. It has two speakers, a Z-axis linear motor for touch haptic, an IR blaster, NFC, and a headphone jack.

The POCO X3 Pro has a retail price of €249 (~$296) for the 6+128GB variant and €299 (~$356) for the 8+128GB variant. There’s also early bird pricing, similar to POCO X3. The POCO X3 Pro 6+128 GB has an early bird price of €199 (~$237) and the 8+128 GB has an early bird price of €249 (~$296).

POCO X3 Pro is available in color varieties of Phantom Black, Frost Blue and Metal Bronze.

The tagline for POCO F3 is “The Real Beast.” It is the direct successor to the popular POCO F1. Both specifications and design cues come from Redmi K40 that was released in China last month.

It incorporates the Snapdragon 870, a 7 nm chipset with a peak performance of up to 3.2 Ghz. It outperforms the Snapdragon 865 SoC by more than 10% in terms of GPU efficiency. Again, the system is fitted with LiquidCool Technology 1.0 Plus. AnTuTu gave the chipset a score of 640,758. The device is also 5G capable and Wi-Fi 6 compatible.

It has UFS 3.1 storage paired with 256 GB ROM and LPDDR5 memory paired with 8 GB RAM.

The POCO F3 has a dot-display screen with a tiny 2.76 mm hole. The display is powered by an E4 AMOLED panel with a peak brightness of 1300 nits. It is HDR 10+ compatible for crystal clear transparency. Furthermore, it has a 360-degree light sensor that detects the surrounding lighting atmosphere for proper brightness. The refresh rate of the POCO F3 is 120 Hz, and the touch sampling rate is 360 Hz.

The POCO F3 has dual Dolby ATMOS speakers on the top and bottom of the unit. In addition, it has Hi-Res Audio and Hi-Res Audio Wireless.

The unit is 196g and 7.8mm thick, with a 4520 mAh battery. It has three cameras: a 48MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 5MP tele-macro sensor. Slow shutter, time freeze, magic zoom, night-time lapse, and other video modes are available.

The coolest and unique factor on the device is a dedicated microphone on the triple camera array. Users can use Audio Zoom functionality as well – a function that will follow the distance as you zoom in and capture the sound.

POCO F3 is available in three color variants. It has Night Black, Arctic White and Deep Ocean Blue

The Poco F3 comes at €349 (~$416) for the 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage configuration, which is a little more expensive. Early bird price is €299 (~$356).

The phone choice of 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage starts at €399 (~$475) and is available for early bird price at €349 (~$416)
