If You Don’t, Then You Should Briefly Know About The Clubhouse Buzz

“What is Clubhouse?” Almost everyone is asking this question, or at least might have asked once. Chances are some even don’t even know what we are talking about here.  And we are talking here about a trending social invite-only app – Clubhouse app.

What exactly is Clubhouse app?

Clubhouse is an audio-only social chat app. For now, the app is only available in IOS for iPhone users only. The official URL of the app is, which takes you to the Apple app store. You will need an invitation from an existing Clubhouse user to get access to open your own account and use the app. Each new member gets two new invites for new signups and earns more invites as they keep using the app.

Unlike other popular social media such as Facebook, Twitter, or Tiktok, Clubhouse does not feature any posts, photographs, or videos, the app is only about audio chats. Once you enter the app, you can listen to conversations, discussions, and interviews between users on a wide range of topics. You can define your topics of interest, such as music, travel, sports, technology, or business, the app will recommend conversation rooms as per your interest.

You can think of it as a live podcast where you can listen to the conversation, you may as well participate but there is no such obligation that you must speak.

You can join into a Clubhouse room or start your open. The rooms can be set as “open, social, or closed” types. An open room allows any other users to join. A social room enables only users you follow to participate. And, a closed room is an invite-only room, for limited and invited people. Besides, the social app also has “clubs” that create recurring platforms and have members.

A Clubhouse room has speakers, listeners and moderators. The user who starts a chat is a moderator and the moderator can also allow other users to moderate. The moderators can invite listeners to become speakers in the chat room.

One of the interesting features of the app is that once the conversation is over, the room disappears. In another word, it works differently than Facebook Live that allows you to watch the video even after the live broadcast has ended.

Clubhouse app has been installed 5.5 million times around the world with most of its users (about 42% out of total users according to Sensor Tower) based in the US. Japan has around 16% of downloads while Germany has 10%.
