Emirates Partners With Pfizer- Vaccine On Air

With the world economy barely surviving the massive disasters brought by the pandemic, the “work from home” idea was at the top of its game with most of the manpower around the world going digital and online.

Of course working from home can last as long as the workload can be sufficed online, but absence of manpower will(and did!) cause a great state of crisis among companies and retailers. The need of a vaccine is extremely crucial and a glimmer of hope shines upon as Emirates has announced partnership with medical giants life Pfizer in order to deliver the latest vaccine samples all around the globe.

  • The Partnership

Pfizer isn’t the only pharmaceutical company that Emirates seemed to have collaborated with as reports from Tim Clark, the president of Emirates suggests that the airlines company has other affiliations as well.

While it isn’t quite clear on why so many affiliations have been made, one thing stands obvious, the need to deliver the vaccine in time before the world economy as well as global health faces another crisis or some permanent damage.

So is this vaccine effective and most importantly is this vaccine safe? The answer seems to be positive on both ends as Pfizer reported that they have been running tests on all possible circumstances to get the best and most reliable results.

Pfizer announced that the vaccine was developed with the assistance of Germany’s BioNTech and have estimated the effectiveness to be over 90%, they claim that this should be the huge breakthrough they need in this year long fight against COVID-19.

Though a certain “drawback” to the vaccine can be seen as expert medical personnels from Pfizer suggest that the candidate for the vaccine should be under a temperature of -70 degrees celsius for the vaccine to function at its full potential. This seems to be a challenge amongst the experts at Pfizer because maintaining sub zero temperatures during shipment and storage is a predicament that cannot be sufficed at all times.

Pfizer seems to be prepared for the amount of demands that are going to be made for the vaccine in 2020 and throughout the year of 2021 as they have expected a production of over 50 million doses for the rest of 2020 and are working efficiently to produce over 1.3 billion doses for 2021. This is just an estimation as the numbers surely won’t be enough and the supply will be forced to increase with the demands.

While the concerned pharmaceutical companies are working hard to mass produce the vaccine before it’s too late, the demands are not just from downtown roads as delivering all these doses around the globe is a greater challenge to face.

With the travels and tourism industry as dry as a squeezed lemon, aviation companies need this vaccine to reach as far as it can and to every single individual around the globe. Emirates President Clark states that “getting the vaccine distributed globally is imperative”.
