The 16th International Defense Exhibition (IDEX) and the 7th Naval Defense & Maritime Security Exhibition (NAVDEX) will take place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre from February 20–24, 2023. These events, organized by ADNEC Group and the Ministry of Defense, are the largest of their kind in the region and the world. IDEX and NAVDEX are both entering their 30th year. Both events are supported by the UAE Armed Forces, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, and organized by Capital Events. It provides a specialized platform for international naval defence and maritime security companies to showcase their technologies and services to a global audience. Exhibitors at NAVDEX have the opportunity to promote the latest advances in naval, maritime, and coastal security technology, equipment, and crafts.
The exhibition provides a venue for showcasing the most recent defense ideas and technology from across the world, as well as the chance to forge strategic alliances with top military and defense firms from around the globe. IDEX is the premier event in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region for demonstrating the latest defense technologies in the land, sea, and air sectors. It provides a valuable opportunity to build and strengthen relationships with government agencies, businesses, and armed forces in the region. By promoting international expertise, the events also help to build national industries and competencies. As a significant contribution to the national economy of the United Arab Emirates, the defense industry needs to be supported, according to the Ministry of Defence. The number of deals and exhibitor firms at IDEX and NAVDEX has grown significantly during the past 30 years.
IDEX and NAVDEX will also include IDEX Next_Gen, a space dedicated to startups where entrepreneurs can showcase their solutions and technologies in the defense and naval sectors to leading industry figures. The events will also introduce the “Innovation Trail,” a curated journey through the exhibition highlighting the latest products and innovations for the defense and naval communities from top brands. Exhibitors can submit their most innovative products and solutions for selection as part of the trial, which will attract the attention of thousands of international and local buyers.
